Skilled and experienced veterans of finace and recruting join leading contract placement firm

Salo, LLC, today announced the hiring of Maura Howard and Jeff Otos for the company’s project and search teams. Howard joins Salo as a full-time recruiter for both Search and Project candidates while Otos will work in client services on the Project side of the business. Both are seasoned veterans of the Twin Cities in their respective areas: Howard is a well-known recruiter, while Otos has an extensive accounting and finance background. Both bring a variety of skill sets to SALO, the area’s leading contract placement firm.

Prior to joining Salo, Howard worked at an international placement company for four years, where she did both recruiting and client work. Then she spent five years as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for a small firm, but found that she missed the staffing industry. Otos has a “blended background,” including nine years at Arthur Andersen where he served four years as an auditor and five years as operations manager for the audit practice, handling budgeting, forecasting, productivity analysis, and resource assignments. He moved to UnitedHealth for more than three years where he continued to build expertise in operations, finance and human capital while filling several director-level positions.

“My role at Salo is to grow our talent pool for both the project and search teams,” Howard says. Noting the shortage of qualified candidates for finance and accounting positions in the Twin Cities, Howard says her role is to attract the top talent in the accounting and finance industry. “In the end,” she explains, “it’s all about building relationships, building trust. People are putting their careers in our hands.”
