Today, the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota announced that SALO/Oberon/Numberworks has been named the winner of the 2011 Champion for Equality Award. The Foundation presents the award annually to a Minnesota-based corporation or business for its commitment to moving gender equality forward for women in the workplace.
In a move aimed at expanding its successful professional staffing franchise in the Midwest, Sálo, LLC announced today that it has opened a Chicago office to help clients there build the right depth and mix of talent to achieve their complex business goals. Sálo will provide staffing solutions in finance and accounting.
Founded in 2002, the firm has a track record of success in providing highly customized, strategic staffing solutions to Minneapolis/St. Paul based companies. Today, Sálo is a $35 million privately held company with 250 employees in the Twin Cities market. Sálo’s success can be attributed in large part to its unique approach which places a strong emphasis on identifying candidates with the right talent, experience and cultural fit for a specific client assignment.
“We take a highly personalized approach to our client relationships and their talent needs,” explained Sálo Co-Founder John Folkestad. “People are not a commodity and one size does not fit all. For a company to be successful, it needs to have the right people in key positions,” he said. “Companies need a deep, broad bench of talent – we help those companies find that talent and keep costs down,” Folkestad said.
“Growing our business in the Chicago market is the next logical step for Sálo,” said Mitch Ornstein, Managing Director of Sálo Chicago. “There’s a natural synergy for us there, and we know we can provide the Chicago market with the right depth of finance and accounting talent. We’re excited to help Chicago companies evolve by connecting people – it’s what we do.”
Sálo Chicago is located in the Loop precinct in Chicago’s vibrant downtown business district. The firm will target financial services, healthcare and manufacturing industries. Sálo Chicago currently has two business development employees and intends to aggressively grow their staff in the coming months.
