What gets me out of bed every morning are the people who look to me to go out and find meaningful work.
Business Development Director: Chicago
What is your role at Salo?
I am a Business Development Director which means I connect clients and consultants with opportunities. I’m out in the community meeting with controllers, CFOs, and high-level finance executives to determine what their organizational needs are and how Salo might help them.
My work is very people-oriented on the client and consulting side, but I have a background in finance which is really important for what I do. Having first-hand knowledge of the industry allows me to build a stronger relationship with clients. I understand their business challenges. The same thing with the consultants — because I’ve been there I can better understand the opportunities they are looking for.
What lead you to join Salo?
It was a natural progression of my career. I worked in corporate finance for several years after completing my MBA, but I reached the stage in my career where I wanted to use my finance background differently. What I found was a way to use not only my background in finance but also my passion for connecting with people.
What’s your favorite part of working at Salo?
The positive energy, connecting people, and making a difference—that’s what I am about, and Salo is about, every day. The sincerity and transparency exceeded my expectations. At our core, there is a consistency of shared values. It’s how we show up to every meeting, networking event and client interaction.
What do you do for fun?
I’m a total sports junkie—any type of sport: basketball, baseball, football, golf. I’ve done them at the amateur level and I’m passionate about them. I’m a Chicago Cubs fan, of course!
I’m also a part of Big Brother Big Sister. My Little Brother and I have been matched for more than five years now, and he just graduated high school. It’s been very cool to watch him grow and see him develop as a young man.
Travel is a passion of mine. I just want to see more of this big, beautiful world that’s out there. My wife and I have planned a trip to Italy and I have a couple bucket list trips: Australia and the Maldives.
