How would you describe your role, purpose or the outcomes you drive?
My role is centered on building relationships and identifying top talent in the market. I thrive off of the energy that results in meeting new people and connecting them with opportunities that they may have not thought about otherwise.
How has your previous work experience prepared you for your role with Salo?
I gained experience working with a diverse client base during my time in executive search firms, which really honed my skills in recruiting and taught me to be a discerning listener. Working for a boutique start up firm and seeing all phases of building a direct hire recruiting practice helped me to become a more strategic, “big picture” thinker.
How do you achieve business outcomes?
I think consistently if you can bring a lot of positive energy to your work that is what will ultimately come back to you in spades. Something that always stuck with me is that people don’t always remember exactly the words you say, but they will remember the way you made them feel.
What impact did your upbringing have on the way you approach your work and life?
For starters, I learned at an early age that there is no free ride in life. I think my personality is a blend of qualities from each of my parents. My mom has been a VP of Communications and in commercial real estate for the past decade, and she is tough cookie- a straight-shooter who pulls no punches and is very analytical. My dad who’s had a successful career in sales has the opposite demeanor- very laid back and makes great friends anywhere he goes.
How would your friends describe you?
My best friends would definitely say I’m always trying to make them laugh, will be the one who starts the party, and I’ve been known to give one hell of a wedding toast.
List three interesting things about you, but only one of them needs be true.
I was on the Olympic Development Training team for US soccer when I was 15. I was in a plane crash. I’ve won over 10 coloring contests.
What is your favorite thing about working at Salo?
The culture. There is an emphasis on working hard but then celebrating accomplishments and having fun. It creates a very positive working environment so we all actually look forward to coming to the office and are driven to wanting to make this company successful.
