Allison McCloskey

Business Development Manager
Finance & Accounting Minneapolis

How would you describe your role, purpose or the outcomes you drive?

My purpose is to provide a positive experience for both clients and consultants by connecting the right people at the right place and time. I do this by building relationships with both to understand each of their needs and goals.

How has your previous work experience prepared you for your role with Salo?

I spent 6 years in public accounting and consulted for Salo for a year. Now that I am on the other side I have a good understanding of what challenges companies can face and what resources they need to achieve business outcomes. Being a consultant has also given me perspective on what is needed for the consultant to add value, and that in addition to experience the right culture and fit is key to success for both.

How do you achieve business outcomes?

I listen well and ask questions – communication is key. I always want to make sure I have a deep understanding of a problem or vision so I can move forward in the right direction.

What impact did your upbringing have on the way you approach your work and life?

My parents taught me that nothing in life is handed out freely and you work for what you want. That lesson gave me the drive to always put my best foot forward in all that I do.

How would your friends describe you?

Loyal, disciplined, easy-going, always up for anything

What are three interesting things about you, but only one of them needs be true.

I run a half marathon every year, I’ve visited five of the seven continents, I have a dog that weighs significantly more than me.

What is your favorite thing about working at Salo?

The fun, supportive, and driven people!
