John retired in June, 2015, after a 35-year career with Ernst & Young.  Most recently, John was the Minneapolis Office Managing Partner, where he led an office of nearly 700 professionals.  In this role, he was responsible for executing the firm’s strategy on a local level, working with clients to monitor satisfaction, and helping to develop people. In addition, John was an assurance partner with over 30 years of experience serving large, complex clients.

John has significant experience in planning, coordinating and executing global audit engagements as well as coordinating other assurance, advisory, tax and transaction advisory services to clients. His experience includes SEC reporting including filings for initial public offerings, secondary equity offerings and public debt filings, as well as consultations on complex technical accounting matters. John served as coordinating and engagement quality review partner on some of EY’s largest clients.

John is active in the Minneapolis community.  He serves on the board of directors of Greater Twin Cities United Way, where he chaired the board in 2013 and the Greater Twin Cities United Way Campaign in 2011.  John is on the board of directors of the Minnesota Orchestral Association, where he is a member of the executive committee and chairs the board development and governance committee. He is a previous member of the Minnesota Business Partnership, where he chaired the audit committee.

John is a graduate of the University of Kansas with a degree in business administration and accounting.  He is a member of The Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants.

John and his wife Trudy have three children and live in Minnetonka, Minnesota.
