Molly Kissner

Business Development Director
Human Resources

How would you describe your role, purpose or the outcomes you drive?

Simply put, I connect the right people with the right work.  I get to facilitate a symbiotic relationship where everyone involved is gaining from the experience.  When a consultant is placed in an environment where they truly thrive, meaningful outcomes are delivered to the client.

How has your previous work experience prepared you for your role with Salo?

While providing logistical support to the National Science Foundation in Antarctica, I learned how to problem solve in extremely challenging environments where resources were limited, timing was critical and cutting corners was never an option.  I loved figuring out how to make sure everyone got what they needed in an efficient manner.  Even though it was a world away, there are many parallels to my role as a business development director.

How do you achieve business outcomes?

I approach everything with an open mind and try to remain as objective as possible. I am mindful of how information can be perceived and projected so I try to resist drawing any conclusions until I feel like I understand all of the moving parts. By collecting information and establishing clear lines of communication, I’m able to problem solve and be an asset to both clients and consultants.

What impact did your upbringing have on the way you approach your work and life?

I am the youngest of three kids and grew up on a small hobby farm in rural Minnesota.  My dad was a large animal veterinarian who was dedicated to his clients and always on call.  My mom is a rare books librarian and by far the most well read, curious and passionate woman I know.  I learned from the best.

How would your friends describe you?

Kind, adventurous and outgoing.  Also, genuine as the day is long.

List three interesting things about you, but only one of them needs be true.

I lived at the South Pole in Antarctica.  I played the trumpet on “The Today Show.”  I like to juggle when I run.

What is your favorite thing about working at Salo?

Working with a team of passionate people that love what they do.
