Accounting Manager (51772)


As an Accounting Manager, you will be a key member of our financial accounting and reporting team, with primary ownership of the financial closing process ensuring timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP, responsibility for hands-on leadership of the accounting team, maintenance of the general ledger, monitoring and development of internal controls and managing day-to-day accounting operations.  This role interacts with departments across the organization and will also be visible to several members of the senior leadership team.



  • Ownership of the monthly closing process, including preparation and approval of journal entries
  • Managing and completing the review of monthly profit and loss statements at the segment level, working closely with others in the Company to explain results versus budget, forecast and prior year
  • Responsibility for timely and accurate reporting and compliance with appropriate accounting standards
  • Managing the accuracy, timeliness and completion of the monthly account reconciliation process including preparation and review of Balance Sheet account reconciliations
  • Monitoring and implementing internal controls to ensure accuracy of financial statements, records and information
  • Assisting with multiple standalone audits and other regulatory compliance reports as needed
  • Assisting with quarterly and year-end audits, including preparation and approval of necessary audit schedules
  • Managing team members in order to coordinate workload, ensure quality and establish procedures
  • Providing leadership, mentoring and motivation to the team to ensure timely delivery of department deadlines
  • Assisting in budgeting and forecasting
  • Interacting with team and other department heads on accounting initiatives
  • Assisting with system implementations and related testing
  • Performing other special projects as required



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Experience of 6 – 8 years
  • Public accounting and supervisory experience preferred
  • CPA certification preferred
  • Excellent computer knowledge in Microsoft Excel and Word (Visio and Access a plus)
  • Working knowledge of financial systems and processes (JD Edwards knowledge a plus)
  • Excellent analytical abilities; ability to summarize data and analyze results
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy with ability to meet deadlines
  • Consistently work to improve accounting processes and work smarter
  • Strong leader and team player with proven organization skills; ability to prioritize and handle several projects concurrently
  • Sound judgment and excellent communication skills to interact appropriately across all levels within the Company
  • Ability to manage change in a dynamic business environment
  • Motivated, self-directed and hands-on, able to work with minimal supervision
