How would you describe your role, purpose or the outcomes you drive?
My role includes several validation procedures that are related to billing and payroll functions. I also assist with month end closing items such as accruals and account reconciliations.
How has your previous work experience prepared you for your role with Salo?
Before beginning this role with Salo, I was the hired on as the Finance/Accounting Intern. The internship gave me a fundamental understanding of the systems and processes. This experience combined with my education in accounting gave me a good introduction to what I could expect in my role as the Staff Accountant.
How do you achieve business outcomes?
It is important to me to understand the significance of the task that I am doing. This usually involves completing the task until I am comfortable with it, and then taking a step back and analyzing it. If there are elements that could be made more efficient, I will take steps to make improvements.
What impact did your upbringing have on the way you approach your work and life?
In the early years of my life, treating each person with dignity and respect was highly emphasized. Also, seeing how hard my parents worked to raise six children and maintain a presence in the community with little to no complaints has inspired me to approach each situation I am presented with an optimistic outlook.
How would your friends describe you?
Intelligent, proactive, loyal, and quick-witted.

The only bone that I have ever broken was my wrist (I achieved that by jumping off my bunkbed in my sleep). I’m a huge Super Smash Bros. player. I’ve never read the Harry Potter books.
What is your favorite thing about working at Salo?
The energy that everyone brings with them to work combined with the open environment of the office really makes me feel like people enjoy being here.
